Vibrations have an impact on matter
The source of all creation is sound and resonance, everything spins and vibrates. Sound and resonance manifest in physical form. Every frequency has its own specific 3-dimensional shape. When sound is the source of all creation it can also be influenced or manipulated by sound, more specific with its prime resonance frequency (the source code).
Sound is vibration and vibration is energy. Cymatics is the process of making sound visible (also sound outside the range we as humans can hear) by vibrating a medium. Cymatics proofs by visualizing audio frequencies that vibrations have an impact on matter. Cymatics makes a direct translation of sounds into geometrical shapes.
According to Albert Einstein, everything is energy, so matter has also its own frequency and thus vibration. Geometry is the visible form of vibration. Therefore buildings (materials, colours, shape, angle etc.) are in a way ‘frozen’ music. The German writer Johan Wolfgang von Goethe said it already around 1800: “I call architecture frozen music”.
In epigenetics, they made some exciting discoveries. Epigenetics is a new field of biology that is unravelling the mysteries of how the environment (nature) influences the behaviour of cells without changing the genetic code, ‘the architectural blueprint’. As our human body is made out of cells also the behaviour of us human beings is influenced by the inner and outer environment.
Perception, awareness of the elements of the inner and outer environment through physical sensation, is the signal or switch that controls our body and behaviour. In fact, perception or belief controls our life because it interprets the signals from the inner and outer environment.
Since our built environment is an integral part of the outer environment the quotation of Winston Churchill: “We shape our buildings; thereafter they shape us.” gets a new and deeper meaning. Buildings that create a resonance field with its users.
Organizational DNA and Culture vs. Real Estate & Facilities
With music, we hear audio vibration. Architecture is not only visual vibration. When you go through a building it’s even more; it is as walking through the instrument itself as the instrument is being played. It’s like moving through a 3D machine, a harmonically tuned consciousness resonating device.
Sound frequencies have an effect on matter. Just like sound can create order from chaos, so does architectural form creates orderliness. Read more in the article Architecture is a Symphony of Form.
If the DNA and culture of an organisation are translated into a melody, which building fits them? The ‘frozen’ music of buildings has a huge impact on the well-being and behaviour of people in a building. So be aware that we design our built environment as a music symphony, instead of as a cacophony, in 3-dimensional stone! It’s all about spatial alchemy and how we people resonance with the (building) frequencies. Geometry is how vibrations (energy) become visible.
Corporate Real Estate & Facility Management (CRE&FM) is in fact an alchemical process. It has the potential to let people go through a transformative experience by interacting and connecting in and with real estate. It can be compared to that elusive but decisive time in the alchemical process in which one metal changes in the other.
Cymatics, making vibrations visible
“If you want to find the secrets of the universe,
think in energy, frequency and vibration”.
(Nikola Tesla)
There are etheric formative forces which are the wave aspect that then collapses to the particle. It’s invisible waves that actually create all forms and all energy patterns. Cymatics shows that changing sound vibration, invisible waves, will immediately change the physical structure of what’s being impacted by the waves.
When represented visually, music becomes organic geometries floating inside a harmonically structured space. Have a look at the video and realize how much we people are also affected by vibrations. As you raise the frequency the Cymatic patterns become more detailed. Solid matter, like in the built environment, has its own vibrations (frequencies) that affect people’s moods, intentions and behaviours.
Feelings on display vs. Human Capital
Besides that, we are being affected by the frequencies of the built environment we are maybe even more affected by the energy vibrations of thoughts and feelings of other people in that built environment.
In the project Eunoia II (Beautiful thought) the artist Lisa Park puts her feelings on display. With biosensors and a brainwave sensor (EEG) headset, she made the invisible energy of emotions visible. Lisa believes that what is inside our body, more than 60% of water, resonates with the vibrations/energy of our thoughts and feelings.
